@TheColete – Actually in the most common configurations the camera is NOT always on. It’s only used when authentication is required and will have no appreciable system impact. Regardless, the use of the camera is extremely efficient with analysis happening at relatively low framerates and only 320×240 resolution. FastAccess runs well on even fairly low end systems. If you are experiencing a specific problem, please contact Sensible Vision tech support. We will be happy to help.
….. webcam constantly runs theirfor making computer slower
Depends on the security mode that you have selected. In Face Login mode nothing happens when you look away. In Continuous Security mode, the desktop will lock X seconds (configurable) after your face is no longer visible. What mode you’ll want to use depends on your physical location and your particular needs for security and convenience while in that location. You can switch modes any time you wish.
what if i look away?
@blackflarez – Thanks for the question. FastAccess is highly photo resistant. See previous comments responding to the same question for more details. You may also explore the concept in detail by going to the Sensible Vision support page and linking from there to our online knowledgebase. There are 3 questions there that go into this in far, far more detail than I have space for here.
@SVDemo What happens if somewon gets a photo of you and puts it in front of the camera ? will it pass
@ryanwilliammac this is a scandal maker lol
So they can control us
Actually it says “can be configured” to check for your presence all the time. Steve Jobs should jump on this like wildfire since most of his screens have cameras as it is. He can then gloat on how nice it is to have cyber and real security.
@svtechrep wow thats good to know, and thanks for the reply
@uzzie88 – FastAccess is highly photo resistant. Most standard photos – and now in version 3.X even most photos taken through the webcam itself – will be rejected outright. If additional security is required, the “Face + Password” feature can also prompt you for just a few characters of your password after you’ve been away from the computer for a configurable amount of time. For additional details see the photo FAQs accessible from the Sensible Vision website.
what if someone uses a picture of you?
@Parthcyber – actually this is just as good as a fingerprint reader and significantly better in many important ways. Not only is FastAccess incredibly accurate, but it very uniquely tracks you AFTER you log in. This allows for automatic entering of website usernames and passwords without re-authenticating, automatic locking of the desktop when you walk away, automatic user switching, parental control enforcement, power savings and battery life extension, etc. etc.
Isn’t Fingerprint Recognition is better than this????
@i4you2010 – Thank you for your interest. I would love to provide a link, but URLs are not permitted in comments. You may certainly download a demo from the Sensible Vision website (which can easily be Googled).
@hen555 turn the lights on stupid
give some link for that softwere
@phantomseanR – in limited testing with twins, FastAccess has shown the ability to tell the difference between adult twins. That said, if you really have twins in the same area we would recommend enabling the “Face + Password” feature to maintain the majority of the convenience while still greatly minimizing the possibility of a wrong login. See our online knowledgebase accessible from the support section of our website for more complete details.
What about twins?
i fucking hate this guys voice
@CrawlingCoconut – if you’re having difficulty with recognition, there are a few things to check. Particularly, look at the FAQ site at in the support section of the homeuses website (sorry can’t post a link here).
Specifically, make sure that the “green corners” are consistently visible around your face when logging in. If you’re still having difficulty, please contact us directly at any of the publicly available email addresses on our website so I can help further.
how come whenever i try to sign in using my face it says “face unrecognized”? when i bought the laptop it was the one on display?
i have the theme that woman has in the coffee shop
@computerchris122 – actually not at all. You’re always free to log in with your Windows password. All biometrics (that are at all accurate) will have the occasional “false negative” so this is a standard feature. (It wouldn’t be good to lock users out entirely, after all.) What makes FastAccess unique is that a false negative is also a learning opportunity – a chance to acquire additional biometric templates which actively improves future recognition performance.
and if the software fails to read your fucked my son
Mine is not working I have an ipod 4 4.2.1 help!!!!
